Karrabar halfpipe is already starting to show sighns of heavy ware. The surface is starting to split and crack. Its been coverd in some kind of slippery liquid. And lots graff. The council Spent alot of money on that ramp. Now its almost fucked. After only being there for a few months. What a waste.
yeah its all the little boongers that piss, smash bottles and spray shit on it that fukk it up
Kids put hot chips on it and squashed them, hence the slippery liquid being oil.
We gave the ramp a bit of a wash today. It is a lot less slippery now. The style of material used needs a lot of unnecessary cleaning on the surface. Maybe the local council should speak to some of the local skateboarders before they waste there money on dodgey ramps. Anyway it has a hell of a lot more grip now. We will try to give a good clean at least once a month.
Steel surface? We always used a 30/70 coke and water mix to give Mona vert ramp some grip on hot days.
Easiest way to do it is poke a hole in the bottle lid, then squeeze and spray. Spread it around with a mop, and you're done.
yeah, that's what we did last airbag. red bull is even better, but its more expensive...
Thanx 4 the tip Mick. The ramp is made out of some kinda new low noise skate material from europe.>Maintenance free composite structure
Perfect mix of everlasting composite materials
Rhinotop ®skate surface (high pressure laminate)
Rhinex ®substrate (glassfiber reinforced foamed polypropylene)
Rhinolene ®( ultrastiff foamed propylene sanwichpanel)
Hot galvanised steel
Zinc-nickel treated screws
Copper press treated struts . This is what they say on there site anyway. Will post some pics of the krew seshing the ramp when its a little more grippier.
Yeah, luv'd the coke deal, always worked well...
Damn' at one point u' couldn't even roll on Mona / Keirle, & more so Belrose (aka; slippery lil' sucker) without cokin' em' ! (after one of the councils repaint jobs')...
Ok here are some pics of me and the crew giving the ramp a good oll soaking in coke, to try give it some grip. Unfortunatly we didn't have enough light to be able to give it a skate. So let us know if it made any difference kids.
