> TASMANIA - BURNIE SKATE PARK
In 1999, Council built it's first Skate Park in Burnie in consultation with local skaters and was multi-use for both skateboarders and in-line skaters. This steel and ashphalt Skate Park, located on Marine Terrace, was extremely popular and hosted numerous local, regional and statewide events and also featured exhibitions from mainland Australia.
Due to the building of a new residential complex, the development of a new Burnie Skate Park is underway. Numerous consulations have been held and the aim is to have the new Skate Park built by Christmas 2006. To be located at the Western end of West Park Oval, this concrete Skate Park will be approximately 890m2 and will incorporate approximately 100 "tricks" for beginners to advanced. This Skate Park will be of a much higher standard than the former Skate Park and will be built with room to expand and greater capacity to host youth-orientated events. It will cater for skateboarders, in-line skaters, BMX riders and rollerskaters (for those who prefer curved spaces to 'rinks').
FUCK YEAH, 100 "tricks"!!!
They must have a shitload of cash.... does anyone know how much??
Who's building it??
Design looks good, could still do with some refinement.
Hope it turns out like you want.
