> ALEX HEADS SKATE PARK COMMUNITY CONSULTATION
Come along to the Alex Heads Surf Life Saving Club to have your say in the redevelopment of the Aleandra Headlands skate park.
Always good to see upgrades and don't want to sound like a dick, but it looks hecticly crowded in.
Kinda reminds me of places like Bondi or Newcastle Bar Beach, which I guess work a certain way, or are based around a big bowl and minimal street, but are hard to skate when there are more than a few people there, or just a million scooter kids all hanging around, like every other time I have been to Alex over the years.
I cringe every time someone has the bright idea to have a "combined youth space" with other things that make it completely useless as a skate park - see Capalaba as the best / worst example of this - as the skate park area is usually reduced and the "seating ledges" around the park are actually more of a pain than good - see Newcastle Empire park or Bar Beach or whatever it was called.
Do they still have lights as part of the new plan, as that was always a good thing going on there.
Anyway hope it works out - not really any kind of local to me, and I am sure with good people doing the planning, it should work out ok.
Sorry to sound like the grumpy old man I have become.
dont fix whats broken. why not just get a second park in a nearby park? Maroochydore or Mooloolaba
That park already has a great flow.
