unfortunately the ramps we were building in late '77 were smaller , lower , less even . rougher , more dangerous and had to be put back up after a few goes..
those were the days , .. skateparks these days suck !
hey mick did u do anything over the other gap that goes from the banks to the netball court ?
I just had a look at the photos in the parks list. I can see that they have added some concrete between the bank and the basketball court.
The netball court wasn't there in the 80's ook, and I haven't skated it since then. So No, I haven't done that gap. Looks like it could be fun though. How far is the gap?
no updating, but I heard that when the portable skatepark dudes frontside went there some dude put a flatbar across that gap and ate a whole lotta shit, wish i was there...
yeah i know about frontside, its usually on there and its near my house.
where you from azn dude ?
The rubber is most likely for noise. Those steel ramps
are as load as!
I checked the hurstville council website and there is nothing
about expanding olds park. The closest is a reference to
the st george wide survey of needs for recreational facilities
(see me "St George sk8ers read this" thread) that says
"Lower levels of demand are being expressed for:
...
ý target groups ý such as skate park facilities for youth"
We need to make our need for facilities heard so we
need to get as many submissions regarding a local skating
facility as possible.
hmmm i wonder what happened to this "updating" huh...
maybe just a flatbar and box, i'd be content with that
all the councils in the st george area got together last year to do a joing recreational strategy plan. It was finished last september/october but has still not been released. I know that rockdale is as a result planning 2 skateparks. I would not be surprised if the same was not true for kogarah and hurstville. kogarah has been planning something small in carrs (sp?) park on the highway side. hurstville must build a real skatepark at olds!!!
is that old bowl at hurtsville the one i would've seen from the train out the left window while heading from the shire to the city?
i was only young but i remember seeing it there
yeah i think. it was right next to the train line.
as far as I know these are the only two skate facilities that has ever been in the st george area .... SHAME!
