> MANLY VALE - 5 WEEKS AWAY.
"Yea I might be able to if people didnt keep building shit skateparks in my area, Avalon, Mona Vale, Balmoral, forestville, Manly - awsome."
What are you talking about, they are all sick parks! Talkin shit on Manly, Damn! You gonna have to deal with Azar and his gang of cut throats if you dont watch wat you say!
Are we talking about the same parks here ? The ones im talking about are in NSW, and who is this Azar guy ? Never heard of him.
'and who is this Azar guy ? Never heard of him.'
I think this proves that you dont skateboard....
I guess I'm in that 1% minority - I love a backyard pool... however, most of the joy of a backyard job is that its like one of those meal-deals - 'for a short time only...' I mean, I have a great chiropractor, but I dont really wanna be seeing her that much more often !
If we're gonna get more bowls built lets make 'em big - like Bondi - but different shapes, so you can generate some real speed and have gnarly lines that are always gonna be challenging. There is too much of this intermediate sized stuff already. I'm all for having stuff for everyone to enjoy - its called DIVERSITY. Build a couple more 'strictly street' parks in some different suburbs (Fernside is sooo much fun). Then hopefully at least one more BIG bowl (not a kidney please... a clover perhaps ?)
I like whippy messed up tranny but from the dimensions expressed it does seem too much like an aussie pool. I am sure I would like skating the pool tho.
The "street" section is a bit uninspiring. Generic obstacles. Get with the plaza stuff! Seeing as tho the euro gap is often the most heavily sessioned obstacle why have it so any bailed tricks will shoot boards straight into the deep end of the pool? Not well thought out.....
That Plan Is quite deceptive. I just went and checked out the site, and the pool is fucking tiny, You think Balmoral is tight? Its gonna make balmoral look like a mellow mini. 3 quarters of the platfor is done, and then I realised that the edge of that is gonna be the back of the coping, which means another 30 cm off the diameter. From looking at it in its current state I can't see it being skateable, maybe it'll have some eccentric value, like the vertwall at lanecove or errindale, but I would have been really psyched on a nice skateable pool, like godbowl or coburg.
another rail that can't be skated both ways due to a poorly placed and useless bowl..thankyou chad ford.
I thought the new Waterloo and Frankston parks would have set the standard and wake up the skate park making dinosaurs!
It all does start with the skaters though. Councils do have meetings and ask peoples opinions on designs...If they dont, and you know a park is being planned in your area, go to your councils website or drop into the council chambers and ask to see the proposal. If you dont think the plans are adequate, then you need to form an alliance of skaters and tell them what you want! To help your voice be heard, youth organisations and PCYC's are always down to help the youth, thats what they are there for!
Fight for your right, stand up for what you want and you just may get it! I know i did in my area, but that was a long time ago before all these street plazas where around.
That street section is such a waste. Make it less 90's skatepark and more STREET!
it's different in suburban regions of sydney dude..councils don't have big money to use filthy good materials, they cut costs big time, it depends a lot on who is building it, the design could be real ancient, but if it were smooth well constructed slabs of goodness it would still make my day.
78%chance of getting rolled skating their, another wasted park possibility, great.
