> MAYFIELD SKATEPARK
The idea of having something new is enough for me. Mayfield ain't home but its where I work (where the bison and wooly mammoth roam). I've seen enough local disappointment in 30 years of skating to know that the answer is to a.) DIY b.) move to Melbourne ala Gregor and Lee- if it's all you live for. or c.) take a trip to where it all started: So Cal.( I did it in 1987) Keep ripping all you young dudes and not so young (Hey Grav!). Newcastle has always had one of the most understated but coolest skate scenes and I kinda like it like that.
Yea i had no idea Sean Mussett was still around the traps.I used to skate with Brett Eberhard(brother) and all the other guys.What happened to Anthony "Simmo" Simmons?
Sim got married and now lives in WA after several seasons working the snowfields. He was a cafe owner there at one stage I think. Sean and I still skate and hang out together playing guitar and drinking coffee (typical 40 year olds!). Get on board slaytanic next time we hit izzy bowl or Slam Fact or Kariong. Andrew Gordon and Johnny Bogaerts are some other olde dudes who have a roll too.
Done deal,i will add my email addy in my profile and let me know when ever you guys are going for a roll.

nah keep the quarter with the ledge thing it will make for some death on the back disasters... change everything else
the park itself is shitter than Mayfield itself, although i am willing to make a bet. how long till deros tag it with gay graffiti

I went to Canberra on the weekend. There are soooooo many parks between Newcastle and Canberra! Go down the coast and come back up the freeway. Nice. Anyway if you want to look at the pick of parks, check out the pics of Weston Creek in the parks section on this tasty website. This is what a skatepark looks like in this century. Move on.
The next meeting about finalising the design for Mayfield Skatepark , Newcastle NSW, will be next tuesday 11th october @ 4:30pm onsite in Dangar Park , Maitland Rd mayfield.
Anyone who can make it is encouraged to come and give feedback and suggestions about final changes to the design, especially people who have already been involved in the design process over the last year or more.
All suggestions will be considered and Newcastle Council staff will be onsite to answer questions.
We are also noting the feedback and suggestions coming from this forum so thanks to everyone who has made comments and suggestions so far.
