That's a shame. I never got there but I heard it was a good core skate store. Business just slow?
"I would rather close than sell scooters..." best quote from Adli today.
Business has been very slow I would imagine.

Damn shame :(
Adli was the nicest guy with the best attitude. Good luck with whatever's next man!
Ppl gotta start buying from small businesses and their local skate shop. I hear that, shop from real skate shops !!!
this shit is rich huh? mark you go around selling all sorts of proddy real cheap at skateparks around brisbane and then make out your helping the skateshops by propping their sale on the internet. Are you retarded? You are the reason they are closing down.
4GG thank you for your simple observation.
dookiehate also thank you for supporting 4GG.
Funny you should say that, and understandable given you know FUCK ALL about how I run my business.
I bought various product including decks, clothes, hardware and other things to the value of at least $100 to $300 from Resistance almost EVERY TIME I went in there, which was quite often, almost every week when I could, product at FULL PRICE (no discounts) mainly being from Project Dist and other skate based distribution companies, rather than others I have no interest in supporting.
It is my choice where I get product, and I never deny I buy from a lot of places, depending on what people want, availability of specific items or prices I can get some things.
The bottom line is this:
I will always try to buy from the real skate shops who are supporting skateboarding at it basic level.
Other shops I make an effort to buy from when I am around their areas include Skateboards Only, Darkside, Momentum and Beyond in Perth, 99 Degrees (just spent $160 there on Saturday), Crab Shack ($180 on saturday as well) along with all the regular shops like Skatebiz, Extremes, etc when I am in there.
So then if I want to give it away to skaters who are ripping and cannot afford it or sell on to people who I know or try to help at whatever price I want, that is my choice.
I do not need you to understand or even think about what I give to others or do for the local scene, because I am obviously retarded, so sorry for causing Resistance Shop to close.
I must not have been spending enough money there after all.
Just curious, what is your local and where did you get your last five to ten boards from?
Waiting for your response...
Sometimes it is not an "IF" but more a "WHEN" in an industry that has many ups and downs, this one being the biggest down in a while and some not able to keep a business going and still be able to put enough money in the bank to even cover basic costs.
I go into a lot of skate shops and I see it more and more.
It is a sad day when I visit small shops and see not much going on - no new product, nobody in the shop for an hour or so I am in there, or anything else.
When many of the regular / older skaters are getting their product so cheap online nowdays, is it any wonder why smaller shops are closing / having so much trouble keeping their business alive.
Kids taking the easy way and buying a scooter or xbox game, rather than a skateboard...
These are all things I see and which I am doing the most I can to try to help the ones who are there for the skateboarding, not for the bottom line of the corporate profit.
What are you doing to help?
justify it how you want, try and lay the guilt trip on me if you must, but the bottom line is this:
because of you, skateshops, particularly around SE QLD, get to compete with a third party that sells skate gear way below RRP. yeah, I'm sure the retailers are stoked on that.
by the way, setting up a stall/stand/boot selling stuff at a skatepark isn't legal
Dude, are you serious?
I BUY THE PRODUCT FROM THESE SKATE SHOPS IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Where else do you think I get it - pull it out of my arse?
If I choose to buy an Antihero 8.5 deck at $130 and sell it on for $70 to someone I want to help then I am allowed to do that - nothing wrong with that is there?
There is no guilt trip or anything intended like that.
Ask again, where do you buy your product?
How much do you spend in your local shop?
I go to a lot of skate shops all over australia and I see the same thing - not just SE QLD.
For Resistance, Adli had options and he chose to go back into a money making accounting position to feed his family, rather than live on the small income he was making from the shop. He even said if it was a single dude or someone not needing to pay bills for the family then they could have easily lived on what he had coming in, but that is the way of it.
I run skate events for councils, for youth organisations and lots of other groups and long ago gave up trying to do deals with suppliers for product for prizes for these things. So now I take it on myself and I buy a lot of product ot use as prizes to give away or to help people in need.
I don't just go to skateparks and set up shop to make $$$ and everything I get from it goes back into getting more stuff to use for the same deal.
So what's your deal?
Are you someone in the industry trying to pull my chain or what?
Please go into any skate shop and ask them how much I have spent in there...
you still havn't answered his question of where you got your last 5 to 10 boards from is this because you dont skate or did you get them off mark which would be so funny.
mark is a super nice guy just down to help out the real skaters and shops alike so back away while you still have your dignity.
