Your photos are mediocre at best. Shoot more and more, try new styles, play around in photoshop for hours and hours.

Definitely start up your own company. It's moderately cheap and easy to do and looks far more professional when dealing with clients.

Word of mouth helps heaps so always try get your name out there with a solid reputation.

Build specific folios for each different client your working for. No use showing a whole bunch of commercial work/product photography to someone wanting portraits done etc.

Post on a legit photography forum. Not a skateboarding forum.

Learn the business side of things as best you can. This is a large part of it.

"I often have a portraiture studio at my disposal, perhaps this to help me gain corporate portraiture work?" - Nope. 99% of corporate portraiture is done at offices as the people are far too busy to take time out of their days for a few snapshots. Makes for good surroundings sometimes.
