I have a few potential cameras lined up, and i just need you guys to tell me how much it cost you guys once the camera arrived in Australia...like tax etc....anything extra......and where you bought your cam from
As well as this...how much did you pay on top of your lense..

got my vx1 from xia from canada for Au$1600 then customs cost $200 because the camera cost ova $1000 u gota pay gst on anythin. then century optics mk1 1grand so total is like $2800

i have already bid on it and am winning but i know some sucka is just hiding under a blanket until the end of bidding where he will sting me with his high bidding
i got my from a hock shop in kings cross for 1200 and the mk1 from adorama 900$ +shipping yeah yeah

i got my cam for about $1600 then had to pay 10% tax plus duty i think 5% then customs fees which is around $50 so all up around $290, which was a kick in the cnt. plus the fuck around of filling out the customs form and doing money orders and shit. and make sure you put the exact exchange rate on the customs form or else they'll ring you back and make you pay the extra couple of dollars it was out, again by money order. at least they do credit card over the phone now. maybe it was just me that had shitty customs experiences.
I paid AUS $3500 for my VX2000
and AUS $3200 for my VX2100
I bought them from B&H.
But the catch is: My uncle lives in the states.
He ordered them to his house, paid no tax.
Then came to OZ on holidays and accidentally left the cameras at my place.
I tried to get them back to him I swear.

jerrysk8 or others, im oredering like $6000AU (GST inclusive) worth of gear off BH photo, besides shipping costs, what other taxes/duties would i be expected to be hit with??

only took 2 days to deliver once the money was recieved
3210 bones for the cam
486 in customs fees and GST
DHL payed all the fees for me to get it through faster
but i had to pay that to them
