Anyone got general infomation.
current battle damage:
- Heads on last possible legs
- Broken mic cover
- Broken playback buttons
its also ntsc, this pose any problem?
any pricing, places to get fixed etc would be of great help
get a new camera.... seeing that in about 1yrs time all vx1k's will explode because 2 many ppl hav them....

That would be the place to get it done, but I dont think it's really worth it if the heads are almost dead and there is also other problems.
If you are keen to get a vx1000, either just search around ebay or go on ( www.skateperception.com ) > sign yourself up > classified > check out the forums and there will probably be some people selling one.

Just buy a vx2000 or something newer so it has less chance of stuffing your cam up.
vx1000's are great though.
VX100 owners have just become great at justifying the fact they didnt have enough money to buy a vx2000

check for your local authorised Sony service centre that will repair the camera for you properly. You'll need to take it into them to get a quote cause it all depends on labour time, parts etc.

my main concern is the ntsc bit for the heads.
anyone kno if the heads are diiferent ntsc/pal
id say get a cheap one chip camera to capture all your footage to save your heads
