I personally dont think it's much difference. But come on, all blokes want a bigger one.
99% will take 8 M over a 6M when it comes to the crunch.
Check the ken rockwell link, it's what I have opinionated myself from. It's called plagurising ;)

Actually, I did the "cheap ass read magazine in newsagency" thing, and saw that they gave the 350D 5 stars and the D70 a 4 star. But it was a pommy mag, and what would the bloody poms know;)
I think nowadays lens and sensor both play a big part. Maybe I'm still wrong........I cant win........I'm out.....old fart........
Megapixels dont really matter, its just the quality of them.
On other forums, all the members always tell people asking digital to go by features, unless you are regularly printing large things
8MP only adds 15% more to the image (around then edges)
choose a camera by which company has better lenses, because you can switch bodies whenever you want, lenses isnt so easy to do
get a digi and start building a lens collection. the price of film bodies is bugger all now so you can always add that later.
digi gives you a lot more opportunities outside of skating if you want to make a few bucks. real estate, event work, that sort of shit.
if you decide to shoot film, go medium format. real good prices on some of that gear now.
