i'd say you were very lucky rob, could have been way worse. when i saw you hit the ground i was 'like holy shit shit!'
yeah i was going to say that too... with the fisheye on he was heaps far away... and that trick is something that isn't really worthy of a roll on fisheye...
something much better with longlens IMO
i guess it was pretty lucky that my $5000 camera got smashed into cement...... hah.
nah it all works perfectly still. they are tough as shit. i felt dizzy when i saw it get pushed into the ground tho..... oh man
p.s the reason i was so far away is because i didnt realise he had started rolling. i had to catch up i was hoping he didnt land that one and i got ruined.
they are pretty strong ay!
PIG had a pretty good fall with my Vx2000 a few months ago, and its fine.
I had a little fall with my 2100 and its fine too!
dont tell pig though, cause im gonna invoice him a few grand for it soon.
cheers
Yeh, I saved your vx2000 good and proper
I learnt one thing, which you should seriously take on board.
Soccer mom is when you film with the LCD out with the lens.
I was macking down martin place and SKRAM's bro vaughan done line similar to the one Aaron artis does in WHAT IF? where he kicks off the side of the pit like a kicker
I was right behind him watching the LCD and my trucks grinded up the ledge a little causing me to be thrown forward really fuckign fast. NOW im a fat **** and I fall hard, but I managed to cushion almost all the impact and held the cam above my chest while I backslammed onto the edge of the ledge. It hurt like fuckign crazy but an expepsive camera was saved.
I could have avoided this if I just watched where the fuck I was going instead of watching an LCD.
NEVER FILM SOCCER MOM!
hahaha as if u even need to say that....fish with the lcd especially while filming lines is death....physical and fashion wise LoLz
Yeh, rocks, ledges, and anythign else becomes major issues when all your focussed on is 3.5 inches of lovable evil.
**Insert penis jokes here**
iv only filmed with the lens a couple of times. runs especially... just getting the mist of things with framing on it.
what ur lcd has like a scratch on it
if it still works all fine its all good
what about if ur lcd snapped off , or your lense smashed
then that would suck
The worst one i had was in CBR following Barretto. My wheels slipped on the surface at mack ten and i slipped and scraped the bottom of my camera on the ground. I ended up with one of the worse hippers ever. The footage is on the 24hrs in CBR section of KS.
yeah saw that - you hit pretty damn hard mate.
still a good save though, coulda been a lot worse ay!

watch this clip at the end there is a another angleof the slam
Yeah not much you can do except laugh. After your camera gets hit alot you get used to it and hope for the best. I had my new camera and the 1st day i used it got disrespected. I guess karma's being on my side as none of the hits from boards and crap have done anything to the lens.
